North of London
Yes am quite familiar with the original measurement Imperial.

I started farming with gallons.
A 5 gallon pail held 22.73 litres.

One year there was some spray imported in 5 US Gallon pails (18.92 litres) and some people mixed their spray wrong.

One comparison that gripes me is all the people that try to make things difficult by calling a tonne a 'metric tonne' or 'metric ton'.

Using several words rather than just tonne which is by definition 1,000 kgs no need for the redundant words.

And of course to make it even more confusing they abbreviate it as MT, now is that million tonnes or million Tons as i was always taught way back when a ton was 2,000 lbs that the abbreviation was T.
the abbreviation for tonne is 't'

So much less confusing to say there were 100 million tonnes sold by 100 Mt
