Ohio | I don't think you can lose money on contract finishing, I don't think you will make much on it either. In my mind it is low risk, low reward. Do you have extra help available to help with load outs and barn washings? Can you make the manure produced an asset instead of a liability? I've seen small (200-400 acres) farms build a finisher for mulitiple reasons, some have made it work, some have not. If your goal going in is to make money off of the finisher to grow a farm I don't think you will be succesful. | |
