This is good advice, buying the stump grinder. I had a neighbor who bought one. He said "It was working out great. I had just the right amount of work I could keep up with part time. Then I took out one small ad in the local paper and I was absolutely swamped with work."

Learn to do something that will pay you not just for labor but for a little expertise. Buy a boom truck and start trimming trees, buy a portable welder, learn to lay landscaping block, start roofing, painting barns - something like that. And then work your ass off until you see the light. Then keep working. You'll be fine.
