Swisher, Iowa | Wow almost didn't post this, 1998 got divorced wife fooling around blamed me for working all the time and not having any fun. Anyway lost 300 acres, equipment, 2 semis, cat, backhoe and my construction business, court ordered sale to pay off bebt and pay her "her half" of what was aquired during the marriage. Laid off 25 full time employees plus 1 part time book keeper,ended up with nothing and $180,000 in debt, lawyer suggested bank ruptcy, not an option for me, Went to work 2jobs 6 days a week slept sundays started over again on monday. today the bebt is paid off,my acreage is paid off, I rent another 100 acres, my only debt is another small chunk of ground I bought 2 years ago, I farm with small equipment that someone else wore out.I guess my point is DON'T ever give up, with a good work ethic and will power you can make it happen!!! | |
