You 'maple' must be a different type than the Hard or Sugar maple we have because there is no wood that burns nicer than Sugar maple.
$40-50 for a chord (that is a true chord I hope, not one of these "face" chords that some sell) is fairly cheap.
Neighbour gets scraps from a pallet manufacturer, lot of 4X4 ends etc. Not sure what they pay but most of what they get is hardwood like Beech, Maple and Oak with probably some Ash.
