Subject: firewood question

Zabcikville, TX
The house my wife and I live in has a modern day wood stove. We have been here over 2 yrs and have used always used oak (bought, too lazy to cut it myself) don't use a lot, just use to help save on propane on central heat unit. Have the choice this year between oak, pecan, hickory or mesquite. Going to buy from a different guy this year cause he's much cheaper. What would y'all recommend? I have been told to stay away from mesquite, burns too hot. TIA!
