All those woods would be great, I'd go with the one that was the cheapest. Just watch the heat with the mesquite.
Mother in law just bought an antique wood/gas cooking range. Looking forward to seeing it in action. She plans on it replacing her old propane stove. She always wanted one and they finally found one on Craigslist.
