I have run an inline ripper in some of our bottom land. Some of the areas pull so hard they kill the tractor before you can get the ripper raised. Those same fields were ripped the following year and the hard spots found the previous year were back again. Some places were never driven across between the two ripper passes. Rain must cause the compaction as can't figure anything else. So the question is does it do any good and how long will it last.
