What happens is the fines that are broken up move through the profile with water to the bottom of the slot sealing over again only deeper. The parabolic points are worse for this.
The pan deeper seals over and will not let the deep penetrating roots through to get to moisture to feed the plant.
Can you go too deep with a inline ripper?
