S.E. Iowa
Ripped bean field 20a of a 80a bean field last fall, wet spring then no rain from june 28th till sept except for 7/10s beans in ripped field did 6-8 bu better could follow the difference on where we stopped the ripping. Bigger benefit wqs we found less errosion over winter and durring the heavy spring rains on the ripped part. Even though the entire field was spring disced and field cultivated the ripped part seemed to interlock the soil particles better and absorb more moisture without run off and errosion.
