I would agree that AC and DC are not even close to being the same. Just as there is a huge difference between a rod out of the oven and one that is cold. But this is to the trained eye, and I doubt that he needs his weld to shoot. But still if a person is going to use 7018 then it needs to go uphill or find a different rod.
