I would agree, 7018AC would work best. For me, I can weld better vertical down then up. I arc the rod at the top - useing a jigging type of move. Dipping the rod in and out of the arc. It gives me control the weld puddle. I have used 6011 with the same method and since I don't have any more 7018AC, I simply use 6011. Controling the weld puddle is key and adjusting the amps, to help that process. I'd most likely start at 100-125 and see how the penitration and puddle react.
