Oh my gosh, I feel like a broken record. Do a quick search here on starter.

Forget the starter. You are potentially in dire straits with low soil p&K levels, especially with clay soils. My question would be, "How did you get there?" Probably by using those kinds of starters.


From this point forward, you should be focusing on getting your soil fertility levels up to where it should be. Do not waste money on that kind of pop-up. Hopefully, there is a reasonably affordable source of poultry manure near you. Get all that you can.


By using starters like those you have mentioned in your situation, you are essentially trying to fine tune a carburetor while there is a leak in the gas tank.
