One formula that seems to work is that land should trade at five times the gross value of a crop of corn. Do the math, and you will see that anytime that happens, it is a good time to buy.
Always interesting to hear other's opinions on that.
It seems that Boone, here in the past, has stated that land should sell at 9 times the value of that crop.
I think I've decided that here, it's somewhere between your two numbers. But if it really does get down to 5........you'd dang sure bet you should be buying.
that multiple has gone down significantly since interest rates have doubled, or more. I’d have to do some mathematical calculations to see what a proper number would be in today’s world.
