Tesla really likes the ground spade up

While not code per NEC, most receptacles should be installed ground pin on top so that if the plug is partially removed and an object falls on the plug it should make contact with the ground pin as to not be an electrocution hazard. As for it being Tesla, most all right angle plugs have the ground pin opposite the cord entrance.
