NW Indiana | The lesson to be learned from this whole thread is everything should be negotiated up front. Wanting to change things in arrears is going to be nothing but a headache. Not to pick on you Nutiller but just using your example why shouldn't your brother get his 1/3? If it was a problem of him leaving it should have been settled at the time and not let go on 13 years. He has kids to protect as well so not sure why it should matter to him that the farm keep going just so his nephews/nieces can keep farming. Nothing should ever be a handshake anymore or assumption that things will get taken care of and be "fair". Way too much money and it better be in writing NOW. | |
