I would suggest not getting lawyers involved. As others have said it will drain you and also destroy your relationship with your brother and his family. Continue to rent it.
I still believe that land will start coming down in price. If and when it does your brother may be eager to move on to a sale to you..
As others have said get a first right of refusal. Having said that, if I am correct in land starting to drop, your brother may not believe how much land has dropped so he will always be over priced.
Not the big of cost for lawyer to go to court and force the sale of the ground @ public auction if you hire a good honest lawyer, yes there are some of them around. If things aren't working out now more than likely won't in the future. On the ground my son bought . Auctioneer got paid more than the lawyer bill on one of these deals.
Parents are the ones that screwed things up. Plain and simple should have not have been left as undivided interest. These types of deals cause family problems that didn't have to be more times than not. |
