Equal isn’t always fair, and what’s fair isn’t always (or even usually!) equal.
I’ve been trying to convince my husband that its not fair to have given up substantial income opportunities in another career (not to mention regular hours, paid vacation, health insurance, etc) in order to bust his “butt” farming at 50-60+ hrs a week and on call 24/7 (and dealing with being emotionally degraded by his overbearing “boss”) without getting some kind of control over the operation or compensation or... something. At least a legitimate succession plan would be something. But father in law doesn’t want to give up control and I’m here like how many more years is he going to “dangle the carrot” and we’ll look up one day 15 years down the road and have nothing more than we do now other than a strained marriage and kids who never really got to have their dad around. | |
