Yes it means that it is going to take more feed to produce that same pound of pork since the first one died. But the first pig is dead, no longer eating feed, and the replacement pig doesn’t exist yet. If it does there’s ten other pigs that died/got sold to make up for it. I wouldn’t get excited for corn and bean prices to skyrocket anytime soon if that’s what you think will happen.
