Everbody here is making the assumption that this farm is running smoothly and at a profit ever since the father has let the son mainly take over. Maybe it has been bleeding red ink or breaking even and the father sees the writing on the wall and wants out before his savings are all gone. That is not greed, but survival mode.
How is the young guys suppose to carry on?
