Whether we believe it or not we already have universal healthcare, because no person can be turned away for health care even if they don't have a means of paying. So these bills just get attached to the bills of the people who pay. One of the reasons that health care is high priced for people who have the means of paying.
Not really. If a person like me cant afford a $ 500 / mo individual self employed Ins and something happens. Yes, they let me in the door, fix me right up and send a big FAT bill.
Option one : Bankruptcy
Option two : Impossible payment plan on a $87,000 Bill, which will simply delay Chapter 11, 7 and or chapter 99.
You call that Universal health care ? Your scenario only works for people who have nothing, absolutely nothing and never ever plan to and wouldn't know a FICO score from a ping pong game score.
Also, consider that one may think something " just aint right " but due to the predictable and guaranteed personal financial cliff that will immediately occur, simply delays and avoids going in to solve a $5,000 problem until; its too late and becomes a $ 100,000 problem.
Fight, and struggle for financial freedom, paid vehicles, home ownership and it can and does all go away in a poof of " healthcare air. "
