Subject: Motivation to Exercise....not a resolution

Central Nebraska

I didn't make a New Year's Resolution to lose weight or exercise more.  I did that last year and was hurt and injured for so long that I learned my lesson.  I'm an avid runner and can lay down miles if I make a goal but I've also realized that it sometimes comes at a cost.  I spent the better part of 5 months recovering from a torn groin/adductor muscle over the summer and fall.  My goal was to run 750 miles last year.  I was on pace for nearly 1,000 when I hurt myself (working on a pivot in the mud) and ended up at 600.  I'm healed up now and played catch up the last six weeks of the year but now I'm really lacking motivation.  I'll register for a few half marathons and use them for motivation to keep in shape but I'm curious what other do for exercise/weight loss motivation?  How often to you exercise?  What is your preferred activity?
