Subject: Finishing Barns

Central Ohio
I am kind of a hobby farmer that has been into just about all farm animals in one way or the other. I married into a dairy farming family and I work there for several years. When my wife's grandpa died my father-in-law and his brother could not work together to save their lives, so my father-in-law took the grain operation and his brother got the Dairy. Needless to say, i got out of the situation because i couldn't see myself working for my wife's uncle either. Anyway, i have a good job off the farm now, but i can't help wanting to get back in to it. Only problem is our grain operation is only able to support the two families already working in it. I am thinking about putting up a contract finishing barn as a way to slowly integrate back into farming. I am hoping the barn will pay for itself over the next ten years and after that time use the revenues to further my farming ventures. Hopefully someday, i'll get back to farming full time.

As i look to do this, does anyone have any good ideas or suggestions?
