Near-north Ontario, French River | Why aren't Americans doing it? If I had to guess it's just simple lack of knowledge and experience in that industry. Nothing to do with liberalism, or being lazy etc, they just don't know the industry and to jump into a $100 Million project with little to no experience isn't a risk most would take.. Remember the greenhouse industry in Ontario has been around for well over 60yrs, its only the last 15 years or so , when new technology has come about that EXISTING producers have expanded in a big way. Even today there are probably less than 30 REAL players in the greenhouse industry here. As they expand to other areas , like the US, others will gain that knowledge and experience and the industry will grow domestically. Just takes time. |
