Mid-Michigan
I don't know. We have cherries. Tomatoes. Asparagus. Potatoes. Sugar beets. Holland grows enough flowers for the world. Grapes. Hops are getting big. Some guy keeps growing some beautiful pot in my field (all on my fertilizer). Edible beans. We are pretty diversified for such a small growing window. I think farmers here stick their necks out plenty far. For me its pure laziness. I'm not babysitting a greenhouse night and day nor am I going to pick fruit or look for the help to do it only to find out my markets found it cheaper somewhere else. What do you do with 50 acres of tomatoes when no one wants them? I can at least store Soys wheat and corn.
