NW Washington | In the US we have fresh fruit and vegetables year around from Florida, Texas, Arizona and California and also a lot from Mexico. We also get fruit and vegetables from South America, especially during our winter, and their summer. So greenhouse growers must compete with these often huge growers in these areas.
We are close to the British Columbia border and there are also see a lot of greenhouses up there as soon as you cross the border. I suspect some of those greenhouse operations have influence and maybe money from the Netherlands. The Dutch have greenhouse growing operations down to a high science. | |
