North Dakota | Most peoples first experience eating lamb was really "mutton" which was a nasty old range ewe that had a hint of sage brush or worse flavor. So if they didn't eat it their kids were not raised eating it. If you have a bad eating experience the first time you don't forget it. The price of lamb has historically been much higher than beef so many "average folks" couldn't afford it. When we prepare "lamb" now for guests they can not believe how good it is and always ask if that's what we're having next time they come. I swear if everybody tasted lamb the way my wife cooks it, we couldn't possibly raise enough lamb for all the added demand. | |
