NC Kansas | As with everything it's all good in moderation. I think HS sports are and can be important. But if you live and die with your kids successes and failures...then it's probably not a healthy relationship. Conversely if you are so anit-sports to run people down for participating...then that also tells me a lot about you. I know this, we played 8 man with 9 people on the team when I was a senior, went 0-8 and it wasn't fun at all, but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything else in high school. So many lessons to be learned from that experience that you can't really explain or teach. I was lucky and got out without any major injuries... My brother had major knee and shoulder surgeries before he got out but he has the same opinion, no regrets... but they were good and almost went to state. | |
