Considering there is only about a teaspoon of glucose in our blood at any one time, your observation is very relevant. Putting that much sugar in the system all at once is basically a metabolic emergency for the pancreas and liver every time we do it.

I got by with it till middle age. Then I let diabetic drugs and insulin shots address the emergencies. Finally three years ago I just quit putting the stuff in my mouth and my health improved exponentially. Got off all the pills and shots. Lost a hundred pounds.
