North central, IA | Of course that's hard to say but the last year before it was tiled it averaged 77 bushels of corn. I lost about a 1/3 of the 100 acres to a pond. Installing the outlet and a couple big intakes solved the ponding problem. The first year after the outlet was installed and the wettest parts of the field were pattern tiled it averaged 206 bushels. the next year we finished pattern tiling and it yielded 223.
The 30+ acre pond was an extreme year but I probably always lost at least 10 acres. So that 10 acres of land went from completely worthless to highly productive. So part of the answer is that in some sense I got 100k back the first year.
