All hired done, with chain trencher = too many little old clay tile lines (some are 2" to 2.5" diameter hand dug style), that you can run into on these old farm fields.

 Trencher operator "flags" when he sees clay chucks come up, and then they go back, with backhoe, and tie those old clay tiles, into the new 5" or 6" plastic tile.

 

I don't see how a "tile plow" would work properly, on these types of fields, without a bunch of tile holes, the next year. 



I know exactly what you mean. That’s why we love having access to the trencher too. I’ve learned the hard way about that. I’ve tiled a section of a field but installed the sub main with the trencher to get an idea what’s out there and then done the last one on each end with the trencher to find old ones to tie in...
