Apparently, this problem is nothing new.

Friend described Texas as a electricity island. Never heard it described that way, but I think its fitting. I don't live on an island, but I do live in a pretty big peninsula. Moving anything in or out to the east or west can be challenge. Alternate plan B is pretty valuable, no matter what the topic is when it comes to moving any commodity. Corn, pigs, beef, or electricity.

I think alternative energies are by far the easiest thing to blame. Don't make it factual, though.
