Subject: RE: alternate energy sources

I believe renewables can actually supply 24 percent of the power in Texas. ERCOT only expected them to supply 10% during the cold spell due to cold weather and limited sunlight. So they met expectations but were far from supplying all the power they could. The turbines is this part we’re turning for the most part but a much reduced speed compared to normal. So in the end it is my understanding that other power sources needed to make up the difference between the 10% they expected for this time period and the usually 24% they usually get. So I guess in the end it depends on how you look at it. They made what they expected given the weather but not normal capacity so they had to make that up with the other power plants and it didn’t work out that way.
