Or what happens when you need to make a tillage trip and release a bunch of that captured carbon? Do you have to pay it back?
I kind of like the idea I saw somewhere that measures the change in organic matter as a measurement of carbon sequestration. Our soils have been slowly but steadily increasing since going to no till but we do still occasionally till a little but that doesn't seem to have too adverse of an effect.
