I have not heard that the vaccines available so far will not protect from the variants that have been found so far.

There are a number of other vaccines still being developed so it would be hoped they will cover some variants if the virus finds a way around the first vaccines.

In the mean time it will help everyone if we slow down the number of cases so the virus does not have as much chance to evolve, if it is not reproducing in new patients then it will not have the chance to mutate.

BTW if you think healthy young people will just bounce back that has been shown to not be true. Some have paid with their life others have damaged organs which will be a problem for the rest of their lives.
Every time we do what is best to stop the spread we may prevent someone from those problems.

Unfortunately the virus will continue to mutate into different strains.

As for EVERYONE under 85, this virus is NOT a something to worry about. Like I said before......your immune system has to be compromised BEFORE it even becomes a reason to go to the hospital. ALL the data is there to prove this. The virus exploits weakness in the body. Damaged organs is already damaged before they contracted the virus.

Just look at the numbers.....
14.5 million people in the province
250,226 total cases (That have been tested)1.726% of the population
5701 have pasted away (this number isn't a true number as all other deaths have dropped so a percentage of these are from other causes)
0.0393% of the population supposedly passed away from covid.

Here is some reading for you.
