I guess it is Ok if you are one of the people who do not have any repercussions from it but there are so many with complications that ICU s are full in some areas where the cases are greatest and patients are being moved out to areas where cases are not as many (perhaps because they stayed home more etc.)
There is enough pressure on ICUs that there are plans in place to know how to decide who gets care in an ICU and which ones are left to let the virus do what it will.

There is no plan to stop the virus, the lockdowns and restrictions are to slow its spread until vaccines can be administered.
Slowing its spread will also slow the mutations that could be even more deadly

I have not heard that the vaccines available so far will not protect from the variants that have been found so far.

There are a number of other vaccines still being developed so it would be hoped they will cover some variants if the virus finds a way around the first vaccines.

In the mean time it will help everyone if we slow down the number of cases so the virus does not have as much chance to evolve, if it is not reproducing in new patients then it will not have the chance to mutate.

BTW if you think healthy young people will just bounce back that has been shown to not be true. Some have paid with their life others have damaged organs which will be a problem for the rest of their lives.
Every time we do what is best to stop the spread we may prevent someone from those problems.
