I don’t think a lot of u guys understand Cash flow, equity, and net worth, A hog building does all 3! I don’t care if you think u are working for free for 12 years your not! It’s no different then owning apartments or rental homes for city folk. In ten years when that 80 come for sale you have been eyeing, you buy it, use the hog barn for collateral, bank won’t use your dirt cattle yards.

But to answer the op question no you won't want to pull a "wage" the first couple years unless you're going to put alot of money down up front or stretch the loan out a long long ways. But hogs can work as a great addition to a farm operation in the reasons listed.
