There ain't no way we're going to stop this thing short of a vaccine or just plain reaching herd immunity through exposure.
If you want to STOP this thing, the entire world would have to shut down ENTIRELY, NOTHING and NO ONE moves anywhere for any reason, for 14+ days, probably much longer as you have to get everyone exposed and then shut it down. That means NO groceries, NO healthcare other than whats available in your home, NO contact with ANYONE other than those you live with.
That isn't going to happen.
If you want to know how to eliminate a virus from a population talk to a hog vet that has closed down a sow herd to push PRRS out. Most herd closures for eliminating a virus last for 4-6 months.
