North of London | Maybe you were told you were essential and to keep working but here things were shut down except really essential things like grocery stores.
Those places that were open put up barriers to protect their workers from the public, put limits on how many people could enter the store or only sold from the door as you ordered so there was little if any contact.
Physical distancing was encouraged and in many cases enforced.
As things opened up and more people started to be out and about masks were encouraged and as more became available or more patterns for handy people to make for themselves more and more jurisdictions have made masks mandatory anywhere physical distancing is nor possible.
Don't think anyone was considered expendable here but health care workers were at greater risk and a number of them became sick with Covid and several died from it as well.
