Southern MN | What I don’t like about the windmills is that if you don’t sign up and a wind farm goes up you have basically given them your wind rights for free. You do Not really have any left if you are surrounded by them. Once you give up those easements it is forever. The pipeline that went through our area almost 100 years ago I was told grandpa Received $30 for the easement at that time. How many millions if not billions of $ worth of product has went through there, and you have to ask real nicely if you want to tile over or under it. Used to think the line was old enough that it would be abandoned someday, now I realize they won’t give that up until there are no more liquids or gases to be pumped, and then will still have to fight them to get that easement removed. | |
