I don’t have any specific numbers but being able to use cheap feedstuffs that require some processing and mixing would help justify the cost. Cornstalks in a hay shortage, food industry waste, year old hay, etc. You can dump just about anything in them and get it mixed up.

They also are somewhat simpler than horizontal mixers so maintence cost should be lower. But it all depends on the operator and what’s being mixed.
