South Central NE
We run on cornstalks during winter, most everyone does around here. But supplement during bad weather or excessive snow cover, the farthest round trip was around 10 miles. I'm going 5 miles now round trip. A guy is calving in a field by me & travels 19 miles one way, he has a rotomix on a truck with multiple groups. If traveling that far I'd want a truck as well. We are sandy compared to where he lives & he is avoiding mud like we had around here last year. He got stuck yesterday in a soft spot & I had to pull him out, he had dug down in the sand a bit & was a good pull! Each has it's own place, depends on your needs.
