Subject: RE: cancer and sugar

North Dakota
When I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009 my oncologist drummed into my skull cancer cells thrive on glucose. He stated that’s why they use a glucose solution when they do a scan. The glucose/radioactive dye solution is drawn in by cancer cells and lights up the image like a Roman candle. After surgery and treatment I severely modified my diet to his recommendations. No grilled meat. No processed meats. No meats with preservatives(sodium nitrate, etc). Very limited deep fried foods. Limited use of vegetable oils. Very little sugar consumption. Can’t remember last time I drank a soda. Haven’t eaten fast food in ten years. The list of foods I don’t eat is much, much larger than those I do.

Currently am working on limiting carb consumption. Going to work into intermittent fasting. Very hard to do as I also have kidney stone problems(5 in the last 15 years). So I have to avoid foods high in oxalates. It’s getting so I don’t have very many food choices anymore:-(
