Meat goats would pencil much better. Facilities and feed is about the same as sheep but goat kids are worth twice the $$/# as lambs.

I grew up raising sheep, switched to goats because I can sell show wethers for good money. I have always had a day job, row crop on a small scale, currently running 150 breeding age meat goats, and about 40 beef cows. My wife is full time on the farm.
I wouldn’t wish 200 nanny goats on anyone. Sheep are a walk in the park compared to goats. I can’t think of anything I like less than working goats in fact
I’m going to try to sell all but about 20 head of the goat herd. It’s just not worth it!
