Manitoba
I currently run 200 ewes. I’m in southwestern Manitoba little bit different area I suppose. There’s no way I could survive without my off farm job. Even with prolific flock you’ll wean at best 350 lambs. After keeping a few replacements you’ll end up selling 300 I always hope to get $150/ lamb. 45k sounds good but I put a pencil to paper once and it costs me $115 per ewe to keep on a pasture based system. So expense out $23,000. Left with about 22 grand which sounds about right. I neglected to mention that if set up properly (which I’m still working on ) one person could easily handle 7-800 in a pasture based system
