Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I remember getting ready to irrigate in late june-early july and wearing a jacket part of the day. I don't think we irrigated much that summer. I really don't remember how planting and harvest went. Although, My Dad passed away in the spring of '93 and I remember harvesting corn in April of '94 so I guess we must have had late crops. We had to wait to settle the estate until the corn could get harvested.
One of the main things I remember in '93 was listening to the radio each morning and getting rain reports from eastern NE, IA, IL, and hearing not just 2-3" rain amounts but 9", 10", 12". It was unbelievable. |
