It could turn out exactly the opposite of the 1980’s, in that instead of basically falling asset values which fell faster than did liabilities and the resulting farm crisis. This time it could be that asset values remain stable or decline slightly but debt rises even faster which is what is currently happening...if this continues long enough, the impact will similar to the 1980’s but over a much longer period.
