n.c.iowa | We’ve had several similar experiences.
We do at least once-a-year a pretty rigorous preventative maintence program on all of our vehicles, twice-a-year on the more severe duty stuff, have never caught one of those sealed bearings while checking things out on a lift. Had two sealed bearings go out in a matter of 20 miles from the first indications of trouble. Had another probably run 1000 miles after we first heard the growling sound.
The first bearing we replaced with a O’reilly’s special, it lasted 3000 miles, the second one lasted 10,000 miles, all oem bearings from here on out. | |
