I knew an older man (he's now deceased) from my county who always bought a quarter of ground every year. When he died in his 80s years ago he owned well over 50 quarters. By the way...........he was the largest Grange insurance dealer in Colorado for several years running. He was a pretty neat old man. Unbelievably tight. Owned a bank...........several neat old cars. Drove a diesel VW Rabbit daily......even while he was worth millions. His only son has it all now and appears to be having a great time. Not sure if he's making any money..........but he has a lot of nice toys and is really a pretty decent fellow and good friend. He's not nearly as tight as the old man though!

I would bet the other business endeavors bought the farms.
