MN
I can see where you are coming from. Personally my savings on conventional seed are 50+$ an acre and I spend about $12 for Burndown and pre, then another $11 on post for herbicides so 23$ an acre, could get down under 20$ if you take out the Burndown. Would run the same program on trained corn.
My in furrow insecticide is 8.50$ an acre since it’s a fertilizer comparable product but could run a cheaper generic for about 4$ if I used straight water instead of fert.
I usually spray fungicide at brown silk and throw in silencer for a buck an acre. This year I didn’t have any fungicide applications so no insecticide either.
So I figure it costs me about $10 to plant non gmo corn so net is $40 or so. Would be more but I can’t get my seed costs any lower than that at 2.3 acres per unit.
